European Union environment ministers will discuss competitiveness, climate change and financing issues at a two-day informal meeting in Budapest, the state secretary in charge of environmental affairs and the circular economy said on Thursday.
Anikó Raisz told the press that the Azeri capital Baku will host a UN climate change conference COP 29 later this year and consultations with EU environment ministers are being started as soon as possible in order to aid the success of the conference.
Competitiveness is one of the main topics of the Hungarian EU presidency, which is important also in terms of environmental protection, the circular economy and sustainability, she said. A more successful green transition can be implemented if competitiveness is included among priorities for this area, too, she added.
The vice-president of the European Investment Bank (EIB) will present to the ministers’ meeting financing possibilities offered to member countries and their companies in the areas of climate change, environmental protection and sustainability, Raisz said.

Should EU ministers be allowed to pollute the country’s airs. Most have already made up their minds to lie about the country. Most ministers cannot be trusted to be fair and honest. Marxist socialists do not belong in the only conservative country in the EU/
@mariavontheresa – the only way is to leave the EU! We must!
But then … Where would we be without a customs union? Schengen? Free money?
Oh wait! Politician solution. Russia! China! Saudi Arabia! They can be our rich, benevolent friends! Already paving the way …
By the way – price caps and “excess profit taxes” sound quite socialist/Marxist to me. Call me stupid.
Everyone is talking about free money. Do countries belonging to the EU do not pay a fee to support Brussels and the thousands of useless employees of the EU. Since 2021 Hungary has only paid and did not receive a penny. It is the Hungarian taxpayers that protect the EU’s southern border yet the EU instead of just saying thank you to Hungary, it is forever taking the country to a socialist court.
So far, the EU is just a nightmare. Hungary’s smart economist should figure out fast how to survive without the EU’s and globalists’ bullies.
