NCIS star arrived in Budapest: spin-off filming started
The NCIS star is already in Budapest: one of the main protagonists of the legendary series posted a photo on his Instagram page sitting in a Budapest restaurant. That is good news for the fans since it means the filming of the NCIS spin-offs focusing on Tony and Ziva has started.
A new spin-off filmed in Budapest
The NCIS: Tony and Ziva is the newest spin-off of the NCIS franchise. The main characters of the new series are ‘revived’ by ‘regulars’ Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo. Pablo left the original series after Season 11, while Weatherly did so after Season 13. Moreover, a famous international group of actors and actresses will join them in Budapest. One of them already took selfies in the magnificent Hungarian capital.
According to variety.com, the filming of the ten new episodes already started in Hungary. Weatherly and Pablo will take the roles of Ziva David and Tony DiNozzo. Their 12-year-old daughter, Tali, will be portrayed by Isla Gie. About the character, Variety wrote that “she is sick of being treated like a child. She’s more intuitive and vigilant than the adults around her give her credit for and she’s ready to prove this to them.”
Also joining the cast are Amita Suman (“Shadow and Bone”), Maximilian Osinski (“Ted Lasso”), Nassima Benchicou (“Emily in Paris”), Julian Ovenden (“Bridgerton”), Terence Maynard (“Coronation Street”), Lara Rossi (“The Watch”) and James D’Arcy (“Agent Carter”), they added.

In the original series, we were left with the belief that Ziva died and Tony raised their child alone. In the new series, they raise Tali together in Paris. “When Tony’s security company is attacked, they must go on the run across Europe and try to figure out who is after them”, Variety wrote.
The 56-year-old Michael Weatherly already posted a photo from Budapest on his Instagram page. He was in a downtown restaurant, Jamie Oliver’s Italian, hvg.hu spotted.
“The beautiful sights and sounds and people are making this Budapest idea the perfect location…”, he wrote under the photo.

I do like both Tony and Ziva, but this show has long run its course.
The first ten or so seasons were great and the next 3-4 were passable. Those afterward don’t hold a candle to the show as it originally began. They really should’ve wrapped the whole thing up with the departure of Abby.
