Budapest’s Fisherman’s Bastion to shine in Uzbekistan’s flag colors
On the night of 1 September 2024, tentatively at 20:00 pm, a landmark action will take place in Budapest to mark the 33rd anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
One of the main landmarks of the Hungarian capital, the iconic Fisherman’s Bastion (Halászbástya), will be illuminated with the colours of the flag of Uzbekistan.
Independence Day is a national holiday that symbolises the pride and unity of the Uzbek people, and their aspirations for prosperity and well-being.
This significant event was made possible by the efforts of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Hungary, the support of Budapest City Hall, and the largest Hungarian OTP bank.
This event will become a symbol of friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries. The occasion will highlight the historical significance of Independence Day and unite people around a common goal—celebrating the prosperity, peace, well-being, and sovereignty of Uzbekistan.
We invite all Budapest residents and guests to witness this unique spectacle and celebrate the important anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence with us.
