Hungary’s Digital Citizenship scheme very popular
Hungary’s government has launched a Digital Citizenship scheme which enables citizens to present their personal ID using a mobile phone, the government spokesperson said on Thursday.
Eszter Vitályos told a government press briefing at a cabinet away-day in southern Hungary that the app includes an individual’s personal and vehicle registration data in one place and enables them to book an appointment in government administration offices.
The app has been downloaded 176,000 times so far and expected to reach 400,000 by the end of this year.

Um, yeah, this is one thing I’m having nothing to do with. It’s guaranteed to be abused sooner or later by a government against its political opponents. If what China does with this to its citizens doesn’t send shivers down your spine and if you don’t realize that our (Western) “democratic” governments will ultimately do the same, then there’s no helping you.
