A nationwide strike in Belgium has led to the cancellation of all flights to and from the country, including those to Budapest. The strike, which began on 13 February, has brought air traffic to a standstill, affecting major airlines and thousands of passengers.

Impact on Budapest flights

According to AIRportal.hu, several flights between Budapest and Brussels have been cancelled. Brussels Airlines flights SN2825 and SN2826, which were scheduled to operate between the two cities, are among those affected. Passengers are advised to check with their airlines for rebooking options or refunds. Wizz Air flights, which typically operate from Charleroi, are being rerouted to Maastricht Aachen Airport in the Netherlands due to the closure of Belgian airspace.

The strike is part of broader protests against the Belgian government’s proposed pension reforms and public service cuts.
