Budapest Assembly debates Pride, railway privatisation, and municipal transparency
The Budapest Assembly on Wednesday discussed issues regarding the Budapest Pride Festival, the government’s plan to put railway stations into private hands and a proposal aiming to ensure the transparency of the municipality and its companies.
“I am gay, young, and pro-peace,” Richárd Barabás, group leader of the Budapest chapter of the opposition Párbeszéd-Greens said in the municipal assembly on Wednesday, adding that the city’s LGBTQ Pride festival was “for me and many hundreds of thousands of Hungarians is not just a weekend programme … but an event at which I can feel equal, without being ashamed.”
Barabás reflected on remarks of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán made in his speech on the state of the nation, and said Orbán had “provoked” Pride organisers and civil activists “to divert attention from his own failures and his family getting rich”.
“Pelting words of hatred and cynicism disperse the seeds of shame, while shame destroys lives; that is why I will fight against it,”
Barabás said, adding that “Budapest is free, diverse, and inclusive; it has been and will be.” Barabás handed over a volume of Queer Budapest to Alexandra Szentkirályi, group leader of the ruling parties.
Mayor Gergely Karácsony said the right of assembly “applies to all communities of citizens … freedom shall not be rationed.” He also said he would soon meet Pride organisers, adding that “Pride is an organic part of the community we call Budapest.”
Krisztina Baranyi, the mayor of district 9 said “Pride will be held despite all intimidation; banning the festival would require quitting the European Union.”
Anna Szepesfalvy, deputy of the ruling parties, said “adults in Hungary can live the way and with whom they want to without restrictions … but there is zero tolerance for infecting children with LGBTQ propaganda.” Szepesfalvy also proposed an independent review of the municipality and its companies’ finances, “to root out elements that could have made steps funded by foreign entities to topple the government.” She also called for a report from the municipality’s envoy in Brussels on its activities.
Dávid Vitézy of the Podmaniczky Movement said regarding plans to rent out railway stations for 99 years to private economic players that “public assets are being sold out here and now”. He vowed to do everything in his power to make the plans public, and called on the government to come clean on the issue.

I’m looking forward to Budapest putting on the largest Pride Festival and parade possible with plenty of oil slicked male torsos just to provoke the Fidesz snowflakes who can’t handle it. It really has the possiblity of shaping into a form of popular protest against the Fidesz government and they know it and that is why they want to ban it.
The “Love Affair” of Orban with Alice Weidel, a lesbian, in a long standing relationship, with a Sri Lankan born adopted as a child by a Swiss family, her profession being a Film Producer.
The FAMILY home is in Einsiedeln, Switzerland, having lived to-gether in that beautiful location, just 35 minutes on the train into Hauptbahnhof Zurich, on the Alp River since 1999, with there (2) two adopted sons.
Weidel, her official residence is in Uberlingen, Berlin that on “public record” allows her to avoid Swiss Taxes.
Uberlingen, is her electoral District.
This “right of right is always right” love match of Orban and Weidel, that Orban has attempted to again “jump on” post the outcome of the German Elections in recent days, his CONGRATULATION’s to Weidel and her Party – why not extend an INVITATION again to Alice Weidel to come visit Budapest, Hungary, bring her Partner and there (2) two adopted Sons ?
Alice Weidel, at the invitation of the Orban – Fidesz Government of Hungary invite HER to lead the March, the Grand Colourful Parades & Floats – commencement from Hero’s Square right down Andrassy to Deak Ferenc – of the LGBTQ Pride Festival ???
WHY not – Orban & his Fidesz Government ???
This is another example that if Weidel in interview was asked being a lesbian, her views on her “political ” mate’s adapted position – laws in place to be increased – on the LGBTQ – community or FAMILY in Budapest, Hungary ?
Would Orban have “Egg ” splattered all over AGAIN his “Rotund” face by answer’s from Alice Weidel ?
Cardinal Peter Erdo, the Hungarian “leader” of the Holy Roman Catholic Church of Hungary, in population percentage represents 43% of Hungary, being Baptized into the Roman Catholic Church – why not JOIN in – be part of the LGBTQ – Grand Parade – the Pride Festival in Budapest, Hungary.
Great marketing promotional “tool” to REFLECT – to MESSAGE out to all Hungarians, to your “friend” – the Prime Minister of Hungary – Victor Mihaly. Orban and his Fidesz Government – the REQUEST in the conduct of your priestly duties, the words handed you – from Pope Francis.
Pope Francis words, his EXPECTATION – of a Cardinal – of ALL baptised into the Holy Roman Catholic Church – centered on the latin word – “obedientia” – translated to English – OBEDIENCE.

No one is scandalized if I give a blessing to an entrepreneur who perhaps exploits people : and this is a very serious Sin.
Whereas they are Scandalized if I give it to a Homosexual.
This is Hypocrisy!

Cardinal Peter Erdo – your “practice” stance against DIVORCED Catholics, your “friendship” support of Victor Mihaly. Orban – in times we LIVE – in Hungary, the Health of the Holy Father – the HIGH probabilities of CHANGE – in the political environment of Hungary, and the “leadership” of the Universal Holy Roman Catholic Church – the in being a Non Progressive – visionary looking into the FUTURE individual as is Cardinal Peter Erdo, inclusive dismissive of leadership qualities, that still PERSONIFIES in the “core of your being” – not Coming Out – to warm to, embrace – and practice in your priestly duties, the words, the EXPECTATION of you Cardinal Erdo – to Pope Francis in your OBEDIENCE.
