PM Orbán’s MEP to examine purported USAID “corruption machinery”

The newly appointed government commissioner for examining funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) told public radio on Sunday that his work involved a “highly complicated” system with a huge number of foundations and cross-financing.
András László, who is also a Fidesz MEP, said the “corruption machinery” of USAID had involved over ten billion US dollars, some of which had gone to Hungary.
He said partners in the US had been contacted and the goal was to travel there as soon as possible for talks, then “cut off the tentacles of corruption” in Hungary, too.
László said the lion’s share of the work was being undertaken on the American side, adding that 90 percent of USAID funding for projects abroad had ceased, while 95-98 percent of USAID staff were expected to be laid off. After a review, USAID will be wound up, he said.
László noted that the US secretary of state had said USAID had supported far-left, Marxist projects around the world.
The Hungarian government, along with the Trump administration, is committed to ending those projects, undertaken with funding for organisations “masquerading” as NGOs, he said.

There is nothing “purported” about it. USAID has been funneling American taxpayers’ dollars to globalist-socialist-fascist causes all over the world. It’s the very definition of the “dollar-Left.” (As if Soros, Schwab, Gates, etc. doing the same is not enough for us to content with already!)
Despicable.
Praise be to Trump and Musk for putting a kibosh on that scam.
Again, it is amazing to me that decisions are taken, based on the line item assessment of a team of young tech folk. Do not get me wrong – I manage a small army of them, and know their limitations.
To make any assessment, I would require at bare minimum forensic accountants (specialists in identifying financial irregularities, tracing fraud, and conducting forensic audits), certified accountants (experts in financial reporting, audits, and compliance) and government auditors who understand the operations and are capable of conducting independent audits and fraud investigations. Not even talking about legal and ethics experts, procurement, program evaluation and effectiveness specialists.
If anyone believes this DOGE approach is fact and data-based as well as sustainable – we can do away with entire industries dedicated to audit and accounting, scrutiny and more. And about half the civil servants.
Tax audit? We sent a 23 year old! Look at the line item he or she found! Here is the assessment!
Kidding, right?
NORBERT – most if the founders of the US were in there 20s. You obviously know nothing about the guys working for Musk.
It is true they couldn’t be hired in the DEI infested goverment at the highest levels.

Light evening stuff. To all readers – don’t give out permissions to your software, access codes, etc. to people you do not know, have not vetted (security clearance, background check, anyone?) or have any doubts, whatsoever, regarding their short or long-term intentions.
And just because you can navigate a system, does not mean you understand what the data is telling you. Again – without the learning and experience, you really do not know what you are looking at.
“Move fast and break things” is BAD when you are dealing with big systems and data.
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
All the king’s horses and all the king’s men
Couldn’t put Humpty together again.
They tried to push him up
They tried to pull him up
They tried to patch him up
Couldn’t put him back together again.
Good analogy. Toss in God mode (special mode or setting that grants users access to powerful administrative functions, hidden settings, or advanced controls that are normally restricted) and you are likely to have challenges for years to come.
HINT: as any controller or bookkeeper knows, you only need read access to review data.
