Budapest has officially cemented its place as one of Europe’s top music capitals for 2025, ranking third in a recent study conducted by travel booking site Omio. The Hungarian capital shines alongside London and Paris, showcasing its vibrant and diverse music scene that appeals to both locals and international visitors alike.

The rankings: Budapest’s place among giants

Omio’s comprehensive study analysed the music offerings of 50 European cities, evaluating factors such as the number of open-air festivals, concert venues, nightclubs, and ticket affordability. London claimed the top spot with a perfect score of 100, followed by Paris with 89.4 points. Budapest secured its position as a frontrunner with an impressive score of 77.5, surpassing iconic music hubs like Berlin, Prague, and Barcelona.

The Hungarian capital’s success stems from its multifaceted music scene. While the city is renowned for major summer festivals such as the globally celebrated Sziget Festival and events at Budapest Park, it also thrives on smaller-scale venues like intimate clubs and underground spaces.
