Hungarian government teams up with biggest exporters to US: what are the plans?

The government is setting up a working group with ten strategic partner companies to counter the negative consequences of the tariff agreement between the United States and the European Union, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in a statement issued by his ministry on Friday.
After talks with representatives of Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Richter, Samsung SDI, SK On, CATL, Bosch, Denso and GE, Szijjártó said the working group would include the biggest local exporters to the US.
The working group will be tasked with drafting proposals to improve Hungary’s economic competitiveness in the current challenging international environment, while helping the government to shape action plans to protect local industry and jobs affected by the tariffs deal, which he called a “gut punch” to the European economy.
