Hungarian agriculture giant teams up with Kazakhstan for major expansion

Agriculture company UBM units sign agreement with Kazakh partner on premix plant operation.
Units of Hungary’s UBM Holding have signed a cooperation agreement with a subsidiary of KazFoodProducts Group on the joint operation of a planned premix plant in Kazakhstan’s Almaty Region, the agribusiness said on Wednesday.
The premix plant, with annual capacity of 48,000 tonnes, will be built by a joint venture to be owned by UBM Group (70pc) and KazFoodProducts (30pc), under the agreement. UBM earlier announced plans to invest around EUR 50m in Kazakhstan, building a premix plant, a laboratory and a training centre.
UBM has a presence in 15 countries and its own trading and production units in Austria, Italy, Romania, Serbia and Slovakia.
