Good news: Russian crude oil deliveries to Hungary reinstated

Russian crude oil deliveries to Hungary have resumed following an attack on the Druzhba (Friendship) pipeline, which transports oil from Russia to Hungary and Slovakia via Ukraine.
Russian crude oil deliveries to Hungary reinstated
According to Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó, crude oil supplies to Hungary were reinstated after the Ukrainian strike on the Druzhba pipeline on Monday.
Szijjártó explained that he had spoken by telephone with Russian Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Sorokin and expressed gratitude to the Russian authorities for their prompt response. He stressed that the Hungarian government had expected Ukraine not to target the pipeline, which is critical to Hungary’s energy security. “This war is not ours — leave us out of it,” he emphasised.

Szijjártó outraged on Monday
On Monday, the minister condemned the Ukrainian attack, describing it as both unacceptable and shocking. He argued: “Brussels and Kyiv have been trying to drag Hungary into the war in Ukraine for three and a half years, and these increasingly frequent attacks on our energy infrastructure clearly demonstrate that intention.”
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister described Russia as an unreliable partner and asserted that Hungary had been repeatedly advised to reduce its dependence on Russian energy. “You can now send your complaints — and threats — to your friends in Moscow,” Andrii Sybiha added pointedly.
In response, the Hungarian government underscored Ukraine’s significant reliance on Hungarian electricity. Deliveries of both electricity and gas to Ukraine through Hungary have increased manifold compared with previous levels, confirmed Gábor Czepek, State Secretary at the Energy Ministry.

Ukraine needs to attack the pipeline again and Hungary needs to stop financing Putin’s war of aggression with its’ purchases of Russian oil and gas. Hopefully Trump is coming soon to tariff Hungary the same as he is hitting India for its’ purchases of Russian oil.
