Motorway tolls have become more affordable in Hungary

Convenience fees for the purchase of Hungarian motorway vignettes ceased on 1 September, the Construction and Transportation Ministry said on Tuesday.
The ministry noted that motorists were earlier able to purchase vignettes from national toll company NÚSZ without a convenience fee, but now resellers, too, will not charge the fee. Convenience fees earlier ranged from a few hundred to a couple of thousand forints per purchase.
The ministry said motorway vignette resellers at brick-and-mortar locations — limited to petrol stations and businesses within 5km of the border — would no longer get commissions for sales.
