Half-price slices at Night of Neapolitan Pizza return this September to Budapest!

The much-loved Night of Neapolitan Pizzerias returns this year, offering fans of authentic Neapolitan pizza the chance to taste selected pies at half price across the country. The culinary celebration takes place on Friday, 19 September, starting at 5:00 PM and continuing until 10:00 PM – or until the dough runs out.
Neapolitan pizza: Authentic flavours and UNESCO heritage
Neapolitan pizza is one of the world’s most iconic gastronomic traditions and has been listed as part of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2017. According to the classic recipe, the dough is slow-fermented, shaped by hand, stretched into an airy form with a blistered crust and a juicy interior, writes Turizmus.com. In Hungary, more and more pizzerias are crafting this traditional Neapolitan pizza, earning top positions at international competitions.

“The aim of the Night of Neapolitan Pizzerias initiative is to spread the message: Neapolitan is the real deal, and the real deal is Neapolitan!” said Gábor Nóth, the event’s founder. This event is not only a gastronomic treat but also a community gathering where pizza enthusiasts can meet, share stories, and enjoy the joy of traditional Neapolitan pizza together.
Nationwide fiesta: Thousands of Neapolitan pizzas
The event will be celebrated nationwide, from Győr to Pécs, Komárom to Diósd, with participating pizzerias inviting pizza lovers through their doors. Each location will offer three selected pizzas at half price, ensuring both variety and quality.
It’s important to note that authentic pizza-making requires preparation and patience: many venues will require reservations, pizzas sell fast, and queues are likely. Organisers recommend sharing experiences with others while waiting, chatting with fellow diners, or even exchanging tips on homemade pizzas.

Over 50 pizzerias are part of the nationwide list, including:
- Pizza Sztori – Balatonmáriafürdő and Kanizsa

The Night of Neapolitan Pizzerias is more than a food festival – it’s a shared community experience where fans can enjoy the craft of pizza making and the taste of high-quality slices.
