Record cold and Aurora Borealis
A seasonal record daily low of -1.8 °C was measured in Lénárddaróc, in northern Hungary, on Tuesday, the national weather service said on its website. The second coldest spot in Hungary was Zabar, also in northern Hungary, with -0.4 °C, HungaroMet said. The national average temperature early on Tuesday was 2.3 °C below average, it said.
A camera on the Prédikálószék, a peak of the Visegrádi Mountains in the Danube Bend, captured a stunning double rainbow yesterday afternoon. Later, between nine and half-past nine in the evening, “the Aurora Borealis began to glow more brightly and soon started performing a joyful dance across the sky”, Időkép wrote.
