Missing packages, late deliveries: ministry launches probe in Hungary

The Public Administration and Regional Development Ministry on Tuesday said it initiated a probe after thousands of Hungarians complained that packages ordered for Christmas had not arrived or came late.
The ministry said consumers had reported lost packages and package lockers that failed to function, while many consumer complaints were not handled properly.
The consumer protection probe is being launched by the Metropolitan Government Office, the Hungarian News Agency wrote.
DPD Hungary acknowledges late deliveries in Budapest
Express delivery company DPD Hungary acknowledged that some of its deliveries in the capital and environs were late because of high package volume ahead of the holidays in a statement on Tuesday.

DPD Hungary said it took full responsibility for resolving under par service in those areas. It added that around 10pc of packages were affected.
