Rebuilt motorway section to open to traffic today

With the £2 billion bank guarantee now safely in hand, there is nothing standing in the way of reopening the long-closed section of the M30 motorway to traffic from 6 pm on 30 December, the Minister for Construction and Transport announced on his Facebook page.
Rebuilt motorway opens in Hungary
“Rough road, but we’ve made it!” János Lázár began his post, adding that after subsidence occurred on the M30 motorway, Strabag tried to pull a fast one — but “we stood firm and would not allow them to deceive the Hungarian people again”, according to the Hungarian News Agency wrote.
The Ministry of Construction and Transport has called in the £2 billion bank guarantee, and it has now been received, meaning everything is in place for the reopening. As a result, the closed section of the M30 will reopen to traffic from 6 pm on 30 December, he wrote.
“We have learned our lesson from working with Strabag, so we are monitoring the condition of the road around the clock — there will be no compromises on the M30,” the minister declared.
