New Ryanair and Wizz Air flights from Budapest Airport: your next adventure awaits! – updated with Air Algérie

Brilliant news for jet-setters: Budapest Airport is gearing up for fresh routes to Central Europe’s top spots, kicking off from March and June.
Hungarian aviation site Budflyer reports that Ryanair is bringing back its popular Kraków service – that’s right, the historic heart of medieval Poland – with twice-weekly flights from 29 March. Hop on Thursdays or Sundays for a quick hop to this cultural gem. Wizz Air beat them to it, launching four weekly flights from 29 April. Come Sunday, you’ll have your pick of airlines!

Meanwhile, Hungary’s own low-cost star, Wizz Air, is serving up summer sun with thrice-weekly flights to Croatia’s stunning seaside jewel, Dubrovnik. The first plane takes off on 8 June, zipping you to those Adriatic shores until 18 September. Who’s packing their bags?

UPDATE: Air Algérie soars back to Hungary!
Air Algérie, Algeria’s national carrier, plans to make a triumphant return to Budapest, as revealed by airportal.hu via a buzzy social media announcement. Get ready for twice-weekly flights connecting Budapest, Vienna, and Algiers in a handy triangle—though they’ve kept us in suspense about the inaugural takeoff date.
Peek into their booking system, and the action’s already live: jets will zip around this route every Wednesday and Saturday.
The airline will deploy sleek Boeing 737-700s for the journey. Air Algérie first touched down in Budapest back in September 2016, only to ground the service amid the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. They teased a comeback in 2024 and 2025, but now it seems it will finally happen!
