Spring bursts into Hungary: what to expect on the first balmy weekend

An anticyclone is ushering in dry weather and rising temperatures: perfect for shaking off winter. It promises spring-like conditions after the frosty, snowy months of January and February.

This morning, thermometers in the Hungarian capital dipped to -3°C, but by early afternoon, they soared above 10°C. That’s your first tantalising taste of spring, and the mercury’s set to climb even higher over the coming days.

According to Infostart.hu, Friday promises wall-to-wall sunshine with no rain in sight and highs of 10–15°C. The weekend keeps the vibe going, with maximums pushing up to 17°C in spots across the country. Dawn frosts will linger, but don’t worry – strong winds are off the menu.
