Breaking: Budapest Airport closed due to JD Vance visit

Change language:

Due to the arrival of the American vice president, crew and passengers could reach Budapest Airport only on foot this morning.

According to Telex, traffic was halted to and from Budapest Airport this morning due to the arrival of US Vice President JD Vance. As a result, passengers and crew had to walk to the airport from Vecsés-West (Burger King-Jysk). According to Google, that takes at least 35 minutes.

“It is chaotic; foreign tourists do not understand what is happening,” a Telex reader wrote, sending some photos. You can check them out in their article.

We wrote about additional traffic closures and restrictions in a separate article yesterday. Be aware that the vice president is scheduled to leave the Hungarian capital tomorrow late morning (around 11-12 AM), so allow extra time to reach the airport during those hours.
