Budapest road rage horror: Driver threatens to “shoot” motorist after dangerous stunt on boulevard – video

Change language:
A shocking case of road rage has emerged from Budapest’s busy Hungária Boulevard, where a reckless driver allegedly threatened another motorist with a gun following a series of dangerous manoeuvres.
Footage shared with the Budapesti Autósok Közössége shows a Volkswagen driver abruptly cutting into traffic from a turning lane without signalling. The move nearly resulted in a collision with a cyclist, according to reports.
The situation escalated rapidly after the incident.
Brake-checking and escalating aggression
After forcing his way into the lane, the driver repeatedly brake-checked the vehicle behind him. The motorist recording the incident responded by sounding the horn, which appeared to further provoke the aggressive driver.
Moments later, the man stopped his car, got out, and approached the other driver.
In the video, he can be heard making explicit threats, shouting that he would retrieve a gun and shoot the other motorist. Even after being informed that the encounter was being recorded on a dashcam, he reportedly dismissed any consequences, claiming he did not care about the police.
“I’ll pull out my gun and shoot you in the mouth, f*ck you. I don’t give a sh*t about the police, I’ll shoot you, you b*stard,” he can be heard saying in the footage.
The confrontation ended with the aggressor returning to his vehicle and driving away. It remains unclear whether authorities have launched an investigation.
Second incident shows broader concerns
The same footage compilation also includes a separate, equally alarming incident in Szigetszentmiklós.
In that case, a BMW driver is seen overtaking dangerously, forcing other road users into evasive action. At one point, a driver ahead chose to pull over to avoid a potential collision, yet the BMW continued its risky manoeuvre despite oncoming traffic.
Growing problem of aggressive driving
These incidents are causing growing concerns about aggressive and unpredictable behaviour on Hungarian roads. Dangerous overtaking, brake-checking, and verbal threats not only endanger those directly involved but also pose a serious risk to other road users, including cyclists and pedestrians.
While it is not yet known whether police action will follow, the footage has started a debate over road safety, enforcement, and the consequences of extreme road rage.
