What we know about Péter Magyar’s cabinet

Péter Magyar announced his new cabinet members in a Facebook post shared less than an hour ago. He wrote that Lőrincz won the Somogy 01 electoral district and proved during the campaign that she was a respected, highly knowledgeable, thoroughly affable, and hard-working patriot. With experience in law and local government, she will serve Hungary well as its next rural development minister. Magyar outlined three goals for the new ministry: supporting rural Hungary, strengthening local communities, and reducing regional disparities.

Meanwhile, Dr Bálint Ruff, a Hungarian political scientist, will be Péter Magyar’s next Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office. According to Magyar, he will be responsible for carrying out a real regime change. Magyar wrote that Ruff has extensive public administration experience, as well as being a well-known figure in Hungarian public life. He is a responsible and unyielding expert—qualities that are greatly needed in Hungary, the new premier added.
