Budapest to host ATP, WTA tournaments in 2017
Budapest, July 1 (MTI) – Budapest will host ATP and WTA tennis tournaments in 2017, Lajos Szűcs, the president of the Hungarian Tennis Federation MTSZ, announced on Friday.
This is the first time that Hungary is hosting an ATP tournament, Attila Richter, the secretary general of MTSZ, told a press conference. The WTA is returning to Budapest after a gap of 3 years, he noted.
Szűcs said the men’s event will take place in late April in the refurbished tennis grounds of Margaret Island.
