Timea Babos strikes again at Wimbledon
Timea Babos and her ladies` doubles partner, Yaroslava Shvedova had an amazing tournament at this year`s Wimbledon. Szeretlekmagyarorszag.hu writes that the double ranked N°5 marched until the final, where they had to face the fantastic Williams sisters, who beat them by 6:3, 6:4 thus making Serena Williams win two titles on the same day (she`s also the singles champion).
After the match, Timi wrote on her website that even though she was sad to have lost the final, playing at Wimbledon`s centre court was a fantastic feeling again. “It was an unbelievable experience! I`m sad about the outcome, but the opponent played very well, especially Serena. We also tried everything, it was a great match”. The Hungarian tennis player also thanked her fans for their constant support. “I`ve heard many Hungarian words during the final, they scanned my name as a choir. I still have goosebumps thinking back!”
Timi has played a ladies` doubles Wimbledon final before in 2014 on the side of the French Kristina Mladenovic, and a mixed doubles` final last year with the Austrian Alexander Peya. “This is another award for finalists, but it will get better!” We wish the same for Timi!
