Number of foreign workers continue to drop in Hungary
Budapest, July 19 (MTI) – The number of foreign guest workers continued to drop in Hungary with only about 16,000 holding a job here last year, business daily Világgazdaság said on Tuesday, citing data by the National Employment Service.
The number of foreign workers was higher, close to 20,000 in previous years, and started to drop first in 2014, the paper said.
The number of permits issued to Serbian nationals doubled and the number of permits issued to Indian nationals increased by 80.5 percent in 2015.
The number of permits issued to Chinese nationals dropped by 43.6 percent, the paper said.
Most foreign workers seek jobs where demand is highest such as in Budapest and in the country’s central regions, the paper said.
