Gerard Depardieu To Appear On Stage At Szeged Festival
(MTI) – Renowned French actor Gerard Depardieu will play the role of Napoleon in the Hungarian folk opera Hary Janos to be performed at the Szeged open-air festival in southern Hungary in August, the organisers said today.
Artistic director of the festival Gyula Harangozo and Depardieu agreed in Budapest on Wednesday that he would perform both in Hungarian and French.
The folk opera by Janos Kodaly will be shown in Szeged’s Dom Square on August 1 and 2. Depardieu will share the stage with Zsolt Homonnay in the title role, as well as with Gyula Bordrogi, Janos Galvolgyi and Gyozo Szabo.
