Agnes Kovacs Latest Hungarian To Make It To Hall Of Fame In Florida
Budapest, June 2 (MTI) – Agnes Kovacs, an Olympic gold medalist who is one of the greatest Hungarian swimmers of all time, has been inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame (ISHOF).
The ceremony in the United States will take place on June 14 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The 32-year-old will be inducted together with Hungarian-born swimming coach Jozsef Nagy. “I find it … unbelievable that from now on I’ll be among my role models as a child,” she told MTI in an interview. Kovacs is also a World and European swimming champion and won a gold medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics in the 200 metre breaststroke.
The ISHOF now will include the names of 36 Hungarian sports personalities.
