FINA – Budapest2017 – The organisers’s goal is to beat the Masters WCH’s participation record
There is a huge interest in next year’s FINA Masters World Championships, which will be held just after the FINA World Champs in Hungary next summer –operational director Márta Mohácsi said.
The organisers expect around 15-20.000 guests for the event to Budapest and Balatonfüred, and their goal is to beat the record of the 2012 Masters WCH in Roccione, when 12.671 athletes took part in the competitions.
„I experienced in the European Aquatics Championships in London and in the Masters EC in Rijeka that people are really interested in the 2017 FINA Masters WCH, because the event will be held in nice and accessible venues. The organisation is on its way, we have regular consultations with the FINA” – Mohácsi added.
The swimming and diving competitions will be held in the new Dagály complex, the water polo matches in the Hajós-Széchy Pool, the synchronised swimming events in the Városliget, and the open water swimming races in Balatonfüred, like during the FINA World Champs. The final programme of the Masters WCH will be announced by FINA soon.
„Our goal is that all the guests who are coming to the Masters World Champs will have good memories of the event, so we will organise cultural and entertainment programs as well” – said the operational director.
