Egis to build HUF 5.5 bn plant in Körmend with EU funding
Budapest, October 28 (MTI) – Hungarian drugmaker Egis Gyógyszergyár will develop new pharmaceuticals and build an innovative production plant in Körmend, in western Hungary, at a cost of 5.5 billion forints, with European Union funding of 2.3 billion, an economy ministry official said on Friday.
Egis Gyógyszergyár and its consortium partners, the University of Pannonia (Veszprém), the University of Szeged and a Veszprém-based research team of the Research Centre for Natural Sciences of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences will establish production capacity for the research and development of new products with funding from the Economic Development and Innovation Operation Programme (GINOP), State secretary Ministry Balázs Rákossy said.
