Hungary sends 56 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Ukraine
Budapest, November 9 (MTI) – Hungary put on wheels 56 tonnes of humanitarian aid worth 32 million forints (EUR 105,000) to Transcarpathia and regions further to the east in Ukraine on Wednesday.
The consignment to Transcarpathia contains food, school supplies, clothing and kitchenware, the human resources ministry’s state secretary said, launching the shipment in Budapest.
The aid to the other regions comprises hospital beds, medical equipment and vaccines, Miklós Soltész said.
The consignment was put together by the Catholic, Maltese, Reformed and Baptist charities with contributions by the aid organisations of the Johannite and Saint Lucas and Unified Hungarian Jewish Congregation (EMIH) communities, he said, noting several other consignments sent already by Hungary to Ukraine this year.
Ukrainian Ambassador Liubov Nepop thanked the Hungarian government, the charities and the Hungarian people.
