Hungarian Krasznahorkai Receives American Literary Lifetime Achievement Award
Budapest, July 24 (MTI) – Hungarian contemporary author Laszlo Krasznahorkai has been granted the lifetime achievement America Awards for 2014, the US literary portal Green Integer said on Thursday.
The author of 16 books has received the honour granted since 1994 for a lifetime contribution to international writing.
The award is given each year by the Contemporary Arts Educational Projects Inc. based on the decision of a jury of American authors, poets and literary critics.
Previous winners include Harold Pinter, Jose Saramago and Peter Handke.
