Hungary, Albania sign declaration of intent on launching direct flight
Budapest, November 28 (MTI) – Hungarian and Albanian government officials signed a declaration of intent on the launch of direct flights between the two countries in Budapest on Monday.
The declaration was signed by Hungary’s National Development Minister Miklos Sesztak and Albanian Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Sokol Dervishaj.
There have been no direct flights between Budapest and Tirana since the now defunct Hungarian national carrier Malév was grounded in 2012, after 66 years of service.

Hungarian low-fare airline Wizz Air was the only party to apply for a concession to operate flights on the route.
The concession contract is in the process of being drawn up, and flights could start within 180 days of the signing of the contract, Seszták said.
