Turkish cultural center was inaugurated in Budapest
The institute awaits the interested public with lectures, concerts, film screenings, conferences, seminars, painting and photo exhibitions. It welcomes everyone who is interested in Turkey, the Turkish language, culture, art and history.
The Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center opening ceremony has been attended on Thursday by among others, Turkey’s Culture and Tourism minister Ömer Celik, Minister of Human Resources Zoltán Balog, the Chairman of Yunus Emre Institute Professor Hayati Develi, and President of Jobbik Gábor Vona.
The first exhibition of the cultural center celebrates Turkish – Hungarian relations at the light of the Ottoman-Hungarian period, reflecting on the common historical experiences based on tolerance, friendship and the culture of co-existence. The exhibition presents 30 documents that have been selected from the Republic of Turkey Prime Minister’s Office State Archives.
