A spectacular light art exhibition opened at Biodome in Budapest – photos

The Budapest Zoo’s Biodome has undergone a stunning transformation into a light art exhibition opening on the 1st of March, inviting the public to experience its brilliance for seventeen evenings.

The Biodome, a unique venue within the Budapest Zoo, plays host to the captivating Light Dome exhibition every evening in early March, showcasing the creations of both international and local light artists.

Crafted by these artists using an array of sophisticated lighting equipment, projectors and high-powered slide projectors, the dazzling displays altogether consume around 100 kilowatts of electrical energy, ensuring an unparalleled visual feast within the Dome of Light.

Lasting around one and a half hours, the exhibition showcases over 30 mesmerising light art and audiovisual installations, many of which draw inspiration from nature and are bespoke to the venue’s interior.

The project is organised by the minds behind the light art programme of the INOTA Festival (COLLOC Productions, Centrum Production), in collaboration with LaLuz Visuals, renowned for their monumental light projections, and the internationally acclaimed light artist, Kari Kola.
