Ader, Orban, Semjen To Attend John Paul II Canonisation Ceremony
(MTI) – President Janos Ader will attend the canonisation ceremony of Pope John XXIII and Pope John Paul II in the Vatican on Sunday, the President’s Office said on Friday.
Ader will be accompanied by First Lady Anita Herczegh, the statement added.
Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjen will represent the Hungarian government at the event while Prime Minister Viktor Orban will attend as a pilgrim not in an official capacity, head of the Prime Minister’s Press Office Bertalan Havasi told MTI.
Delegations from more than fifty countries around the world have announced plans to attend the dual canonisation event and Prefect of Rome Giuseppe Pecoraro said around 800,000 people are expected to arrive for the event.
