American elite paratroopers beat foreign tourists, Hungarian security staff in Budapest club
The American paratroopers used what they learned during their training to beat not only some foreign tourists in a Budapest restaurant, bar and club famous for its parties but also the security staff of the place. Below you may read what we know about what happened in the Instant-Fogas of Budapest’s fancy Akácfa Street some days ago.
According to the Metropol, a Hungarian tabloid, some American elite soldiers got into a fistfight with some foreign tourists and the security staff of a Budapest restaurant and bar on Tuesday. Based on media reports, they serve in a special NATO unit positioned in Hungary. They had fun in the Instant-Fogas of Akácfa Street in downtown Budapest, but somehow a group of tourists confronted them.
An unbalanced fight erupted between the elite paratroopers and the foreign tourists. The club’s security staff tried to separate the parties and calm the Americans unsuccessfully. Metropol learned that the American boys used everything they learned during their special training. The violent actions of the soldiers caused a huge outcry. Finally, the police arrived and ended the brawl.

The officers took the paratroopers to the local police department. Metropol tried to ask about them from the security company involved in the events, but they refused to comment. They also asked the police department of the 7th district, but they have not sent their reply yet.
Meanwhile, the Budapest Metropolitan Police (BRFK) wrote that the tabloid should turn to the Chief Prosecution Office. They added that nobody was interrogated as a suspect in the issue and nobody had to suffer a deprivation of liberty. They also cleared that nobody suffered serious injuries in the brawl. Their official reply did not talk about property damage in the club, so there probably was not any.

They ought to charge and prosecute them according to Hungarian law, expel those individuals involved or provide proof of prosecution via the UCMJ. It won’t be good for tourism to have a bunch of drunk American soldiers harassing our visitors.
“Come and visit Budapest, where drunk U.S. soldiers run rampant!”
Sounds more like it was the tourists who instigated the fight.
Yes,
The drunk tourists instigated and challenged the soldiers who were not in uniform but spoke American English. The aggressive tourists got a small, deserved lesson. Some people when drunk think they are Muhamed Ali. I saw the action.
Defending themselves and teaching some manners to some drunk rude tourists is OK but if they also caused problems with the bar’s security and the police had to be called, then the soldiers also became the drunk rude tourists. When deployed in the military overseas to an allied country you are representing your own country, the military you serve and NATO and should behave accordingly. This is embarrassing, I hope they were suitably disciplined back at base.
