Aria Hotel Budapest won TripAdvisor’s Travellers Choice Award for the second time, labelling the hotel the best in the whole world according to TripAdvisor, Index.hu reports. (the top 10 hotels are listed at the end of this article) This is not the first time that the Aria Hotel Budapest has won such a prestigious international award. In 2016, Aria Hotel was listed as the 22nd best hotel in Condé Nast Traveler’s top 50 hotels in the world, ranking Aria Hotel the best one in Central Europe. This year, Aria was the second best Central European hotel on Condé Nast’s list. Even Forbes Magazine wrote a whole article about the hotel. This article presents everything you need to know about the world’s best hotel: Aria Hotel Budapest.

About the Hotel

Aria Hotel Budapest is a member of the hotel chain Library Hotel Collection which owns hotels all over the globe: in New York City (Hotel Giraffe and Library Hotel), Toronto (Hotel X), but the hotel chain focuses on the Central European region. Aria Hotel Budapest is a five-star hotel that opened in March, 2015, and it is located in Hercegprímás street, in District V. You might have heard about the hotel’s next door neighbour: St. Stephen’s Basilica. Apart from its great location, the hotel’s whole concept is what makes it so incredibly popular.

The Concept

The hotel’s main theme is music. There are four wings, each represents a different musical genre: there is a classical wing, a jazz wing, an opera wing and a contemporary wing.

The classical wing has a really sophisticated décor with crystal chandeliers and hand-made rugs. In the classical rooms, guests can enjoy the music of the real classics: Bach, Chopin or Beethoven.

The jazz wing was inspired by the jazz clubs of the 1920’s, decorated with Art Nouveau furniture and playing Billie Holiday, Miles Davis, Count Basie and B.B. King.

The opera wing is characterized by luxury and elegance with the help of neo-baroque furniture. Rooms are filled with the music of Mozart, Handel, Puccini and Verdi.

The contemporary wing was inspired by the Pop Art style of the 1970’s. In this wing, one can listen to the musical repertoires of Elvis Presley, Beatles, the Supremes or Michael Jackson.

Guests can choose their rooms based on their favourite musicians, as there are rooms named after Hungarian and international music legends such as Maria Callas, Bob Dylan, James Brown, Zoltán Kodály, Béla Bartók and Ferenc Liszt.
