Austria sends 400 soldiers to the Hungarian border
Due to increased migration, the Austrian Minister of Defence and Minister of the Interior are sending 400 soldiers to the Austrian-Hungarian border.
Austrian Interior Minister Karl Nehammer and Defence Minister Klaudia Tanner announced at a press conference that border protection would be strengthened due to the growing number of migrants arriving in Austria. Deutsche Welle writes that reinforced border protection currently means 400 soldiers.
If the situation worsens, they could send up to 2,000 soldiers to defend the borders.
“Austria is stepping up surveillance of its borders. The reason for this is that more and more migrants are coming to our country again,” said Interior Minister Karl Nehammer. Klaudia Tanner thinks similarly. Politicians from the Austrian People’s Party (Ă–VB) reported on their experiences at a press conference in Vienna. Border protection initially means 400 soldiers. However, Tanner emphasised that they could deploy up to 2,000 soldiers if needed.
“The aim is to control migratory movements,”
said Tanner. “We are seeing an increase in the number of arrests at the Austrian border,” Nehammer added. The increase in migration is most significant on the Austrian-Hungarian border. However, they do not only strengthen the common border with Hungary. They also increase the strength of defence at their common borders with Slovenia and Slovakia. This year, 200 human traffickers have been caught, writes hvg.hu.
This year already 15,768 refugees were registered.
Last year this number was 21,700. Tanner has been critical of this. The Minister of Defence sharply criticised the European Commission. According to him, the European asylum system has failed. The measure introduced was welcomed by Christian Sagartz, leader of the easternmost province of Austria. Sagartz put it as an important signal in the fight against illegal migration.
In addition to illegal migration, the measures are aimed at effectively ending smuggling activities. In Sagartz’s view, all provinces and the whole of Austria could benefit from this. Right-wing politician Herbert Kickl welcomed the measure but also voiced criticism. He believes Nehammer is at least a year late with this decision, as 100 illegal migrants arrive in Austria every day.

NOW will those idiots in Brussels – led by the most incompetent German (‘LYING LEYEN’) in over 75 years (guess which German with the funny-looking moustache takes first position) – finally pay attention to what Hungary has been stating for several years ?
Unlikely – after all, God even gave brains to geese but that didn’t help the poor creatures one bit.
And everyone knows that most European Commissioners / Members of European Parliament [not to mention those ‘alphabet people’ working as bureaucrats in Brussels] have less brains than a freshly-laid goose’s egg.
Hey GooseEggs, I’m curious to know what other options, other than the EU, Hungary has for free money. Can you tell me? It seems there are some Hungarians who despise the EU, that believe it can’t do anything right. You seem to have that view point. Can you tell me, would it be better for Hungary to leave the EU, and where would we get our free money to invest in this country?
For the record, “Pisti”-poo, there is NO SUCH THING as ‘free money’.
The E.U. – and its rancid institutions (such as E.C. and E.P.) – does NOT ‘give away’ its own money !
Rather, the money is TAKEN from E.U. member nations and then REDISTRIBUTED to other E.U. nations.
It’s all like a modern-day “robbin’ hood” – except that Brussels takes a very hefty ‘handling fee’ which is used to pay for many insane ideas (such as flooding Europe with lazy, rapacious, good-for-absolutely-nothing-but-breeding ILLEGAL MUSLIM MIGRANTS) conceived by a bunch of sub-human, poofie-woofie / licky-licky, mentally deficient bureaucrats and their left-wing, neo-Marxist / Socialist / Communist / Leninist / Stalinist supporters (who have lied their way into positions of power).
How would Brussels and its various cesspits actually function WITHOUT playing the role of Shylock ?
By the way, it’s FANTASTIC to see that Austria has finally ‘come to its senses’ and mobilised troops at borders to keep those filthy, COVID-19 infected, ILLEGAL MUSLIM migrants out of the nation !
No doubt they will be handed over to Hungarian (and other national) border patrols which will then ‘throw the creatures’ back to where they illegally entered Hungary (or other countries) in the first place.
Hopefully the only food provided to those ‘illegals’ during this ‘expedited procedure’ (to use a common E.U. term) will be good, old-fashioned, ham sandwiches, washed down with one SMALL bottle of (Hungarian) beer …..oh dear, that’s not ‘halal’, is it ??
TOUGH TITTIES !!
Polite Reply to Pisti,
The deal when Hungary entered the EU was that Hungary opened its economy to foreign (mainly German) companies and in return Hungary was given EU funds with which to modernise the country.
These foreign companies have made many more billions than Hungary has got from the EU.
I accept that the Hungarian people have also benefited from the foreign companies by way of products and jobs.
At the time of entry into EU I think most people accepted that deal.
But now EU is trying to walk away from that agreement. So it is not quite correct to say it is “free” money.
Schengehn is dead. Austria is looking at its past, Hungary is doing the sa,e by blaming the lgbt people for its woes, like they did the Jews under Hitler and now we have the comments as above. Ten million Hungarian, the population of London, thinking that they can do better of their own, they think that being under Russian and Chinese control is a good idea, so why are so many Hungarian people leaving to work in the EU and the UK? They don’t want to come back either such sad comments such a sad out look and Austria has failed twice on the last 100 years
