Autumn in Hungary – Photo Gallery
After the success of several photo series which present Budapest in its autumnal colours, we thought that we’d look through the gallery of MTI and share some of the best photos that capture the beauty of the season in the different regions of the country.
Many people claim that autumn is their favourite season due to the change of nature, the opportunity to restart things in life and the intimacy of the cosy weather. It is also a beloved period for excursions, and looking through these photos we perfectly understand why.
To start the gallery, mountain ranges and hills offer a beautiful sight in theautumn. They look like colourful “broccoli forests” 🙂
The Visegrád Mountains, the Danube Bend and Dobogókő are beloved hiking destinations in the autumn. The latter one is a climatotherapeutic destination, a hiking and skiing centre, and a pilgrimage site perfect for meditation and rejuvenation. Not to mention that the lookout towers of the region offer a beautiful view of natural wonders.
Lake Balaton shows a different face in the autumn, it is beautiful in a different way. You can explore the lake and its surrounding fauna and forests by hopping on a cruising boat, on a bike, taking a walk, or by Nordic walking. All of these options allow you to find hidden places and regions that you could not spot while riding in a car.
Autumnal photos were also taken in the eastern part of the country: in Sóstó and Debrecen. The leaves of the trees look as if they were designed for a cartoon or animation.
