Best places in Budapest with foreign cuisine
Budapest is an international city with many places to try foreign cuisine. In this article, we have collected a few of the best ones which you should definitely try. All of them are located in the heart of the city, making them easily accessible for everyone.
Vietnamese
The famous Ráday Street hides many great places, but one among them is remarkable. The restaurant named Pho 18 Budapest, surprisingly located at 18 Ráday Street, is probably the best Vietnamese restaurant. Pho 18 awaits its guest with fast service, hearty meals and exceptionally good prices. You can visit it any time of the day, we can assure you that you will have a perfect time in this corner restaurant.
Tibetan
Namgyal Momo is quite an exceptional restaurant and teahouse. Tibetan cuisine is very hard to come by anywhere in the world. Fortunately, at 9 Bakáts Square, next to the beautiful church, you will find this amazing place. The prices are very good, but the food is even better and they serve big portions. If you are searching for an authentic Tibetan experience, you must check it out. If you do so, be sure to try their butter tea!

African
Near Rákóczi Square at 21 Bérkocsis Street hides the African Buffet and Bar. In quite an unexpected place, you can find a nice little place where you can try traditional African dishes. We have to mention that “African” is not a narrow term, but that is a good thing. Here you can get an introduction to the cuisine of various countries in Africa. Our recommendation is to ask for a plate of fufu or ugali and ask for some sauce with it. Then you can just start dipping it and the experience will be perfect.
Afghan
If you ever go near Blaha Lujza Square, then do not forget to check out Kabul Bahar Restaurant at 27 Népszínház Street. From hot pockets and eating on the go to full plates of delicious authentic dishes, you can find everything. Of course, all the places on this list are operated by people who came from the countries or regions from where they bring their recipes. If you want to know more about the recipes and traditions, you can ask the cooks. Kabul Bahar Restaurant also offers its meals for a criminally low price.
Turkish
Not all good places are hidden somewhere in the inner city. Szeráj, for example, is located between the Nyugati Railway Station and Jászai Mari Square at 13 Szent István Boulevard. This is the best place to go for a filling Turkish meal where you will get the best grilled meat with nice lemonades and of course delicious coffee. Although the place is big, it is very frequently visited by many, but we are sure that there will always be an empty table waiting just for you!

That’s it? No Chinese, Thai, Indian, Japanese, Italian, American?
I worked in Budapest in 2003 the people are wonderful, but I soon found out that there was no sense of customer service. An example was on a Sunday I went to the Millenium hotel for a breakfast brunch I was seated and told to help myself to the buffet. All went well as I was reading my news paper the table began to shuffle and I looked up to see the waitress removing everything on the table including My fresh breakfast when I inquired as to why, She replied Breakfast is serving from 7am to 1030 am its now 1025 you must leave now. there were several other incidents during my stay in this beautiful city. I hope they have moved on to be a friendlier place
