Breaking – grand reopening to come concerning free parking, mask-wearing, festivals
Based on some calculations, the next phase of the reopening might come already next week. We summed up in the article below what it might concern.
According to portfolio.hu, the vaccination program has accelerated in Hungary recently. That is because of the SMS inoculation campaigns and the vaccination of the 16-18 age group with Pfizer. Furthermore, from this Monday, Hungarians living abroad can also get a vaccine in Hungary. If the authorities can keep that pace, Hungary might reach the five millionth vaccinated person next week,
which means that the next step of the country’s reopening can proceed.
The online portal reminds us that, in Hungary, there have been more vaccines than applicants since the end of April. Currently, there are 5 million 76 thousand registered, and 84% of them already got at least their first jab.
Based on the calculations of portfolio.hu,
Hungary can reach the five-millionths inoculated on May 24 or 25- next Monday or Tuesday.
That means that the government might decide on today’s meeting what the next reopening phase will contain. Media expects that they will probably allow organising business events, weddings, graduation ceremonies while wearing a face mask on these events will not be obligatory.

RTL Klub asked what to expect after the five-millionths inoculated. The Government Information Centre said that the government would
revise rules concerning free parking and the obligation of wearing a face mask in every public space.
According to Magyar Nemzet, a government close daily always being well-informed, wrote yesterday evening that, thanks to the bettering pandemic data, free parking, introduced in 2020 November, will end in weeks. Opposition politicians criticised the measure before highlighting that it does not help to contain the spread of the virus. However, the money lost is considerable for the local governments.
