Breaking: Huge accident on main Hungarian motorway, massive congestion
Several vehicles have collided on the M7 motorway in the Törökbálint area in Hungary. The accident has caused traffic to move in one lane, with a congestion of more than eight kilometres.
According to the available data, on 19 May 2023, at around 3:15 PM, four cars collided at km 18 of the right-hand carriageway of the M7 motorway in the administrative area of Érd. According to primary information, no one was injured in the accident, police.hu reports.
According to Útinform, traffic is moving on one lane, up to Budaörs, so drivers can expect to be stuck on the M1-M7 joint exit section. The congestion is more than 8 km long. It is recommended that those who can should use the main road 7.
According to a statement by the National Directorate General for Disaster Management, two vans and two cars collided on the M7 motorway near Törökbálint.
A total of six people were travelling in the vehicles. The technical rescue is being carried out by the fire brigade of Törökbálint, who are disconnecting the power supply of the vehicles. Co-authorities are also working at the scene. Traffic is restricted in the affected area.
