BREAKING NEWS – Trains carrying migrants from Serbia denied entry into Hungary

Belgrade, September 6 (MTI) – Hungarian railway company MAV on Sunday denied to receive two trains carrying migrants from Serbia, Serbia’s state-owned railway company said.

Serbian Railways said in a statement that the train that departed from Belgrade late on Saturday was stopped at the Subotica (Szabadka) train station at night and was prohibited from continuing its journey because Hungary did not want to receive it. The train waited for permission to continue until 7:45am when the journey was cancelled, leaving the migrants on board stuck in Subotica.

The international Avala express was halted in Subotica for two hours early afternoon and could only continue its journey towards Budapest and Vienna after the migrants were taken off the train.
