Budapest Airport launches winter schedule with 7 new destinations and more flights than ever before!

This winter season marks another milestone for Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (Budapest Airport), as the hub introduces its new winter schedule featuring a record 8.9 million available seats and 182 destinations — representing a 12.5% increase compared with last year. The expansion not only offers unprecedented travel options for Hungarian passengers but also provides a significant boost to inbound tourism. During the first eight months of 2025 alone, the number of international air travellers arriving in Budapest increased by more than one million year on year.
Seven new routes expand Budapest’s flight map

One of the key highlights of the new schedule is the launch of seven new routes. Low-cost carrier easyJet will add two French destinations — Nantes and Bordeaux — to its Budapest network, further strengthening connections with France. Meanwhile, Jet2.com will open direct flights to two popular UK destinations: Newcastle and East Midlands. Passengers can also look forward to the return of Ryanair’s exotic Marrakesh service, according to aviation portal AIRportal.hu.
Wizz Air is also expanding its network this winter, introducing new direct flights to Turin and Tallinn. In addition, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is increasing capacity on the Budapest–Copenhagen route: the airline will operate daily flights in November, December and March, and five weekly services during the rest of the season.

More frequent flights and returning long-haul routes
Several routes will see increased frequencies this winter, particularly to popular European and transatlantic destinations. While Air Algérie’s planned return in spring has been postponed, other major airlines will resume operations in the summer 2025 schedule. American Airlines will once again offer direct flights between Budapest and Philadelphia, while Air Canada will restore its Toronto–Budapest connection.
