Budapest among the best European party capitals

New research has named the top 10 best party capitals in Europe and Budapest features in 8th place with a nightlife score of 6.73/10! 
Using sources such as TripAdvisor and AirDNA, The team at OLBG have created the European Nightlife Index, and ranked the best party capitals in Europe based on hotel prices, safety scores, the cost of domestic beer, the number of bars and nightclubs, taxi prices, and the number of casinos in each city.

Prague is the city with the best nightlife in Europe, with a nightlife score of 8.44 out of 10. Prague boasts some of the cheapest domestic beer in Europe and plenty of bars and casinos. It’s also one of the safest cities on our list.
In second place is Bratislava, with a nightlife score of 8.16 out of 10. Bratislava is a consistently high scorer across all the categories, with the Slovakian capital ranking especially well for its Airbnb, domestic beer, and taxi costs.
At the other end of the scale, of the 50 major European cities ranked within the study, London ranked as the 2nd worst nightlife destination with a score of 2.82/10.
Further insights from the study:
  • Warsaw has the cheapest Airbnb prices in Europe, costing just over £65 (€74) per night. Depending on the location and the time of your stay, some Airbnbs are available for less than £26 (€30) per night.
  • Bern, Switzerland takes the crown as the safest city in Europe, with a safety score of 80.24. Bern is a well-lit city with a low crime rate. Particularly in the city centre, the streets are well occupied, with public transport running until the early hours of the morning.
  • Manchester takes the top spot with the most bars and nightclubs, at just over 55 per 100,000 people. Manchester has 218 bars and nightclubs, the 14th-highest total on the list
