Budapest buses to run less frequently during rush hour
The Budapest Transport Centre (BKK) is adapting its timetable to the changing travel habits: from 19 January, the timetable of several frequent services will change during Monday and Friday rush hours.
According to BKK, working from home and flexible working hours are becoming increasingly common in Hungary. As a result, Monday and Friday are also subject to lower traffic volumes of around 5 percent.
For this reason, BKK has decided to change the timetable of several services from 19 January. This means that some services will run 1-2 minutes less frequently. Examples include bus nr 20E, which will run every 5 minutes instead of 4-5 minutes, and bus nr 11, which will run every 4.5 minutes instead of 4 minutes on Mondays.
Infostart.hu points out that the freed-up resources will be fully used for network development.
