Budapest citizens, attention: free access to Hungary’s most expensive spas!
Well, practically free: on 17 November 2023, tickets to every spa in the 150-year-old capital will be HUF 150 (EUR 0.38). However, only while stocks last.
Tickets can be purchased online from 4 November. The only condition is that the buyer must have a Budapest address card (even a temporary one), as the tickets will be issued in their name, Pénzcentrum reports.
For the historic baths, one person can buy 2 tickets (the other person must also have a Budapest address card). For the other baths, the system will allow 4 tickets per person (all tickets will be linked to an address card and will be personal also).
Baths will be open on Friday 17 November, regardless of the special event.
However, it is important to know that tickets will only be valid up to the maximum capacity of the baths.
This is a total of 12,000 tickets, including all the Budapest baths, morning and afternoon sessions, and no more tickets will be sold. For example, at the Széchenyi Thermal Bath, the number is 1,840 people/day.
Ildikó Szűts, CEO of Budapest Spa and Thermal Baths Plc. (Budapest Gyógyfürdői és Hévizei Zrt.), expects high traffic on the servers during the booking period and in the spas on 17 November.
At the same time, Csaba Faix, CEO of Budapest Brand, also announced an additional promotion. Those who have an ÉnBudapestem discount card (i.e. those who have downloaded the app) can buy tickets online from 3 November, but they have to register on the app by 31 October.
