The Israeli choreographer of London Hofesh Schechter will open the Budapest Dance Festival with his new performance deGeneration on April 27. The Budapest audience can see the play in part of a pre-demonstration. The premier will be in Theatre des Abbesses, Paris – Peter Ertl, director of the National Dance Theater said.
There will be double celebration during the festival. First, it is the 65th anniversary of the Hungarian Dance Academy, whose students will share the stage of the Festival Theater with students of renowned – including Vienna, Berlin, Dresden, Stuttgart, Ljubljana, Izmir – dance academies. In addition, this year, like every year, on April 29 is the World Day of Dance. This day, Hungarian Dancers Federation hands over its professional recognitions.
