Google: Budapest is one of the most photographed cities
One of the services of Google, Sightsmap shows how many photos have been taken and where on the Earth, and it is also shown on a heat map with different colors, szeretlekmagyarorszag.hu says.
On the gray areas, there are absolutely no activities, on the purple, there are more, on the red, there are even more and on the yellow, there are the most photos. (By the way, Sightsmap based on data of Panoramio, which is also a Google service and shows the photos on an interactive map, which were tagged in connection with a geographical area).
If we look at the whole world, New York is the most photographed city, followed by Rome, Barcelona, Paris, Istanbul and Venice. You can see on the map that Europe is quite attractive among photographers using Panoramio, and Budapest is also not an exception, it is the 10th most photographed city of the world.
In Budapest, the most photographed places are the St. Stephen’s Basilica and its surroundings, then the Matthias Church, and the Parliament is the third one.
In addition, the Buda Castle, the Gresham Palace, the Citadel, the Gellerthegy Lookout, the Szechenyi Bath, and the Heroes’ Square are rather frequented in terms of photographing. Three bridges: the Margit Bridge, the Chain Bridge and the Erzsebet Bridge are also the favorite of the photo shooters, according to Sightsmap.
The second most photos – after Budapest – were taken in Esztergom, and it is enough for the 112th place, which is not a bad ranking, szeretlekmagyarorszag.hu said.
