Budapest has launched a revamped coupon card with discounts, giveaways and extras to draw more visitors during the recovery of the tourism sector from the coronavirus crisis.
The Restart Budapest Card offers 78 discounts and 37 giveaways. It comes with 48 hours of unlimited travel on public transport in the capital and gives cardholders their third night at commercial accommodations free of charge.
The card costs 11,490 (EUR 32.4) but Budapest Brand Nonprofit CEO Csaba Faix said its real value is 70,000-80,000 forints.
He added that the card could get a big boost if the government would take the administrative step of allowing people to pay for it with the SZÉP voucher card.
