Budapest’s unique musical fountain on Margaret Island returned – here is its program + VIDEOS

Spring is here, so the musical fountain of Margaret Island, the heart of Budapest, restarted this weekend and welcomes everybody with lovely Hungarian and international melodies.

According to fokert.hu, 154 nozzles create the different figures featuring the international and Hungarian hit songs and melodies the fountain plays every hour from 11 am to 9 pm. Furthermore, in the evenings, you can watch short films projected onto the water curtain.

  1. As with many fountains, if you sit there for a while watching the water and listening to the music near this one, it induces a need to pee. Then you find there are absolutely no toilets near by. A very uncomfortable experience.
